PTC Class Leader Resources
We wanted to share information with Powerful Tools for Caregivers Class Leaders now that Iowa State University is the new home of PTC. Helpful resources for Class Leaders include the following:
- How-to Guide for Class Leaders – shows step-by-step instructions for offering Powerful Tools for Caregivers six-week classes including:
- Creating an account at the Iowa State University Extension Store
- Ordering copies of the Powerful Tools for Caregivers Workbook
- Accessing Class Leader Materials on the ISU Extension Store
- Add Your Upcoming Class Series Information
- All Class Leaders must share details for their six-week PTC caregiver classes. You can opt out of sharing your event on our website.
- Add Your Completed Class Series Information
- Use this form instead if you forgot to report your upcoming class before it ended.
- Class Leader Agreement – PTC Class Leaders agree to the terms outlined in the Class Leader License Policies.

- Video and Relaxation Recordings
- You can access the “I am a caregiver” video on our website.
- Bookmark this page on our website that has the relaxation exercises in English. You can also review these exercises in Spanish and Korean.
- Promotional Materials
- In your Class Leader Materials, the Implementation Guide contains an appendix full of suggested language to use for flyers, brochures, press releases, and more. For best practices of accessibility and copyright, we encourage organizations to create their own marketing materials and include the Powerful Tools for Caregivers program mark and statement on your materials (also found in the Class Leader Materials).
